America Will Be:
A Promise Yet Fulfilled
Two hundred and fifty years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the American experiment lies tattered. Camerata Baltimore invites you to a powerful musical reflection on the chasm between the nation’s professed ideals and the lived reality for so many in this country.
America Will Be: A Promise Yet Fulfilled centers the voices of those most impacted by American injustice—Black, Brown, and marginalized communities—through a compelling program of gospel, spirituals, and contemporary choral works.
Interwoven with narration and poetry, the concert leads audiences on a journey of truth-telling, resilience, and hope. Blending concert experience with civic reflection, America Will Be is an urgent and moving exploration of the nation's contradictions, and a call to imagine what it might still become.
