About
Two hundred and fifty years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the American experiment lies tattered. Camerata Baltimore and Charm City Sings Chamber Voices invite you to a powerful musical reflection on the chasm between the nation’s professed ideals and the lived reality for so many in this country.
This concert centers the voices of those most impacted by American injustice - Black, Brown, and marginalized communities - through a compelling program of gospel, spirituals, and contemporary choral works.
Interwoven with narration, poetry, and dance the concert leads audiences on a journey of truth-telling, resilience, and hope. Blending concert experience with civic reflection, America Will Be is an urgent and moving exploration of the nation's contradictions, and a call to imagine what it might still become.
